In this class, I will share with you the brushes and techniques I use to create a realistic portrait that looks as though you sketched it on paper. I will take you step-by-step through my process of selecting a reference, sketching out the foundation, creating value and form, and adding paper texture to your portrait. I’ll also share tips on how you can import layers from previous studies, how to use layer masks, and how to use the smudge tool to create variation in value.
My sweet friend, Tam from Willowing Arts, invited me to participate in a fundraiser called Art for Earth. And of course, I definitely wanted to participate because what better cause to contribute to than to the well-being of our planet.
I submitted my artwork to the Minted Make a Statement Large Format Art Challenge. My artwork was among 5500+ submissions from artists all over the world! I was so honored that my piece, "Somewhere" was selected among the winning pieces!
One of my words is COURAGE. I keep my medal charm in my studio as a reminder that putting art out into the world takes much COURAGE. I've got some big plans I'm working on for the latter part of 2018, but recently, I've pulled together an abstract art collection.
Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway! I so appreciate you for following along with me on this creative journey. xo My hope is to inspire you in your creative journey as well! I'm excited to announce the winners of 21 SECRETS Just Add Water | Summer Studio 2018!
I will be teaching as part of the Just Add Water team where I will lead you through my process in creating a sparkly galaxy effect using traditional watercolors along with the finetec gold watercolor palette. Then we will pair this effect with the pointed pen to design a favorite quote. It could be a quote about stars, magic, the galaxy, unicorns --- or whatever magical, special quote you want to use!
